What is Middle Way Mind Training?
Middle Way Mind Training (MWMT) is a new, empowering holistic healing program developed by Dr. Frank Navratil and based on 2500 years of Buddhist science. Â
It is not a religious method, but a practical scientific method.Â
It consists of an effective and long-lasting program that trains the mind to create a happy, satisfied and balanced outlook with meaning. It develops the mind to react favorably to whatever life hands out to you, whatever tragedy comes your way or whatever difficulties you may encounter in your daily life, in your relationships, in your work, through your aspirations and your goals. It is a method that trains the mind out of its non-beneficial habitual thinking to see reality as it actually plays out, moment by moment, not the way we imagine it to be.Â
More encompassing and holistic than just mindfulness training, the scope of Middle Way Mind Training spans a program with elements influenced by mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, compassion focused therapy, scientific –backed meditation techniques, Buddhist psychology with personalized individual consultations and guided practical homework exercises.Â
Just as we need to train our physical body to maintain its health, we also need to learn to train our minds to achieve optimum psychological health and to resolve the variety of complex problems that we may be faced with.Â
Middle Way Mind Training offers a program that together with your dedicated participation and effort can achieve this.Â
2500 years of Buddhist scienceÂ
With our thoughts, we make our world
The BuddhaÂ
The Buddha was one of the greatest scientists and psychologists to ever walk this earth. Only now after over 2500 years, are modern psychiatrists, psychologists, and cognitive therapists finally going back to closely study this ancient wisdom he discovered thousands of years ago.  Â
From Buddhist psychology we owe the increasing expansion of the mindfulness movement and meditation techniques that are popular today. Â
His goal was only one: to find a way to reduce suffering in our livesÂ
He discovered a method where all human beings could achieve this; it was called the Noble Eightfold Path or Middle Way. Â
The Middle Way was a practical path that leads to freedom from suffering. And what is more, it is available to every one of us. Â
About The Middle Way
Successfully dealing with mental pain and suffering in your life requires training in:Â
- ethics (avoiding deeds that are non-virtuous) Â
- concentration (controlling the mind)  andÂ
- wisdom (developing insight into the nature of reality)Â
There are 8 components of the Noble Eightfold Path or Middle Way in Buddhist Psychology that encompass the threefold training in ethics, concentration, and wisdom:Â
1. CORRECT VIEW : Developing an accurate understanding or view of the nature of reality which includes the nature of suffering, the causes, and how you can reduce or remove suffering from your life Â
2.CORRECT INTENTION: Learning how to avoid thoughts of attachment, aversion, and harmful intent  Â
3.CORRECT SPEECH: Training the mind to refrain from verbal misdeeds such as lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and senseless speech Â
4.CORRECT ACTION: Training the mind to refrain from physical misdeeds such as killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, and any other actions that harm yourself and others Â
5.CORRECT LIVELIHOOD: Avoiding work that directly or indirectly harms others Â
6.CORRECT EFFORT: Learning to abandon negative states of mind that have already arisen, preventing negative states that have yet to arise, and sustaining positive states of mind  Â
7.CORRECT MINDFULNESS: Training the mind to expand its awareness of the body, feelings, and thoughtsÂ
8.CORRECT CONCENTRATION: Training in single-pointed concentrated meditation methodsÂ
